Barbora Šnáblová

Partner

An accomplished arbitration and litigation attorney based in Prague, Barbora has significant experience representing both private and sovereign clients in high-stakes disputes across various legal forums. With a strong focus on investor-state and commercial arbitration, Barbora regularly advises clients in complex cross-border matters under major procedural rules, including UNCITRAL and ICC, and has handled cases involving sectors such as energy, finance, gaming, aviation, real estate and telecommunications.

In investor-state arbitration, Barbora has successfully represented investors and sovereign states in disputes under bilateral investment treaties (BITs), with proceedings seated in major arbitration hubs such as The Hague, Paris, and Geneva.

Her commercial arbitration practice spans both international and domestic disputes, with experience representing clients in post-M&A disputes, bond issues, and energy-related claims under various arbitration rules and governing laws.

Barbora is also well-versed in arbitration-related litigation, having acted in enforcement and set-aside proceedings across jurisdictions, including the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and Germany.

Beyond arbitration, Barbora maintains an active litigation practice before both Czech and international courts. This includes appearances before the Supreme Administrative Court and the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic, as well as the European Court of Human Rights, representing clients in regulatory, tax, commercial, and insolvency matters.

Barbora is also deeply engaged in sports law, serving as an arbitrator in a range of sports-related disputes. Her roles include Arbitrator for Riot Games' Esports (EMEA), Arbitrator at the National Arbitration Court for Sports, Czech Republic, focusing on anti-doping and disciplinary matters, Member of the Arbitration Commission of the Czech Paralympic Committee, and Member of the Arbitration Commission of the Czech Basketball Federation since 2017.

In addition, Barbora regularly advises clients on cross-border business operations, including international restructuring and pre-dispute strategy, helping clients navigate the legal complexities of global expansion.

Lucie Mikolandová

Associate

Lucie is a key member of the firm's litigation practice, with a primary focus on domestic court proceedings. She has extensive experience advising and representing clients in civil and administrative litigation across a wide range of sectors. Her in-depth knowledge of the Czech legal system and practical approach make her a trusted advisor in complex domestic disputes.

In addition to her litigation practice, Lucie advises clients on a wide range of legal matters, including civil law (contracts), family law (divorce proceedings, child custody and maintenance), real estate law (property transfers, lease agreements, and title issues), and commercial law (corporate governance, company restructuring, liquidation and termination, internal guidelines, and business contracts).

Before joining Barbora Šnáblová Attorneys in 2016, Lucie worked in the legal department of a major telecommunications company, where she gained valuable in-house experience.

She holds a law degree from Charles University in Prague and a Diploma of Management from Australian Pacific College. Lucie is proficient in English and Czech, and fluent in German.

Klára Sýkorová

Case Executive

Klára has extensive experience supporting legal teams in complex international and domestic disputes. Her work focuses on legal research and analysis, preparation and organization of evidence, high-quality translations, and precise proofreading. She has a strong command of both Czech and international law and holds a Diploma in Legal Studies from Cardiff University in Wales.

She has contributed to several investment arbitration cases as well as litigation before Czech courts, consistently providing thorough analytical and linguistic support. With almost twenty years of experience as a legal translator (English–Czech and vice versa), Klára specializes in accurate and context-sensitive translations across a wide range of legal texts.

Her background also includes serving as Editor-in-Chief of a legal journal and legal publications editor at Wolters Kluwer CR, and Head of the Legal Department at the Czech Office for Standards, Metrology and Testing—roles that reflect her deep engagement with legal language and policy.

Klára holds a C2 Proficiency certificate in English and is fluent in both German and French, enabling her to work effectively in multilingual and international environments.
